What makes The Silver Frog Deck different?

For anyone new to this site, I would introduce The Silver Frog Deck as a reflective, illustrated online oracle deck, offering online personal journaling, with a view to providing inspiration, contemplation or simply some comfort during all our personal growth journeys.

The site does not focus on predicting destinies, but rather provides a space for you to pause and reflect on your day, your circumstances or your experiences, and to get in touch with your innermost thoughts and hopes around those experiences.

The illustrations are also an important part of the experience. Each card began as one of my own drawings, created over time and often allowed to evolve naturally until the image felt complete. I wanted the artwork itself to invite a response — perhaps a feeling of calm, curiosity, recognition or simply a moment of stillness before you even begin to consider the meaning of the card.

One of the things that makes The Silver Frog Deck different is the gentler tone that runs through the cards and their interpretations. While some oracle decks can feel quite direct, dramatic or challenging, I wanted these cards to offer a softer kind of reflection. Even when a card touches on uncertainty, change or difficulty, the interpretation is intended to help you explore the experience with curiosity, self-compassion and perspective rather than fear or judgement.

There is still an element of personal growth within the deck, but it is approached gently. The cards are there to help you notice what may be unfolding within you, what you might be learning and where there may be an opportunity to respond differently — without suggesting that there is one correct answer or predetermined path.

The online private My Readings Journal is another particularly useful part of the experience, offering you a space to save your readings and add your own thoughts, questions and reflections at the time. Over time, you can look back through your journal and perhaps notice recurring themes, changing perspectives or simply how your thoughts and experiences have evolved throughout your own personal growth journey.

For me, that combination of original artwork, gentle reflective interpretation and online private journaling is what makes The Silver Frog Deck different. It is less about finding an answer outside yourself and more about creating the space to hear your own thoughts a little more clearly.
